SJPOA Establishes Victim's Assistance Fund to Aid Children Orphaned in Recent Double Homicide

The San Jose Police Officers' Association (POA) Charitable Foundation has established a Victim's Assistance Fund on behalf of the three children who were orphaned as a result of the recent double homicide.  On Monday, July 23rd, Marybel and Pedro Jimenez were murdered inside a residence in the 300 block of N. 7th Street.  The three children, who were present inside the residence at the time of the murders, tragically lost both of their parents.

While homicide detectives continue to work tirelessly to locate and arrest the suspect, other officers within the department have expressed a desire to help.  The San Jose POA was willing to coordinate the Victim's Assistance Fund to provide the public a way to give financial support to the children in their time of need.  The public is encouraged to give a monetary donation which would help pay for clothing, housing, food, school supplies and other immediate needs as they arise.

Additionally, the Police Department is holding an internal fundraiser in order to further assist the children.  All money or supplies donated by San Jose Police Officers will be given to the family in order to care for the children.

Members of the public wishing to make a donation may do so on-line at www.sjpoa.com.  Checks can also be sent to the following mailing address:
SJPOA
1151 North Fourth Street
San Jose, CA 95112

Please make checks payable to:
SJPOA - CF and indicate "Jimenez" on the memo line.

AWESOME JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is AWESOME of all the officers that have and that will help this family out. I personally met with the children this past Mon. (06, July 2012) and handed their aunt and soon to be adopting mother Erica a cash filled envelope that was donated to them by my fellow co~workers at the Coronary Care Unit at Valley Medical Center.

On my behalf, and I'm sure those that are aware of your kindness, THANK YOU SJPD POA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny

Thank you
